Multi-User

dbi Staff Scheduler is built as a multi-user interface.  This means that the software is designed to allow multiple users simultaneous access to the scheduling information located in a centralized database.  By default, the dbi Staff Scheduler database is located in the data directory beneath the application's install directory.  You can however move that database to any centralized location accessible by multiple users and connect the application to the centralized database.

NOTE: It is not advisable to have multiple users interacting with a schedule plan simultaneously, as the process of creating a schedule plan does not typically lend itself to more than one person's input at a time.

In a multi-user environment, the conflict checking uses the database not the schedule planner to check for conflicts and therefore will report correctly scheduling conflicts even if you cannot see the conflicting time bar/information in your screen (i.e. the conflicting data exists in a schedule plan other than the one on which you are working or in a schedule plan loaded into more than one machine at a time).  The software also has refresh capability to allow you to refresh the schedule plan at any time and view changes made by another user to the currently loaded schedule plan.
