Schedule Exceptions

Schedule Exceptions are a simple yet effective way to track staff requests for any "exception" to their normal schedule availability; i.e. personal appointments, holiday time, training, etc.

 

Capturing Schedule Exceptions

Schedule Exceptions capture the dates and times a selected staff member is not available for assignment in a schedule plan.  A Schedule Exception can optionally be noted as a Vacation Request to be used when reporting on Vacation time only (see Schedule Exception Report below). 

During the scheduling process, when assigning a staff member to a time bar (Schedule By Position mode) or creating a time bar for a selected staff member (Schedule By Staff mode), the user is warned if a conflict arises due to the existence of a Schedule Exception.

A list of schedule exceptions for all staff can be generated in a report detailing all Schedule Exceptions for a given period of time or just those noted as Vacation Requests.
